About
WHO IS ARTHUR THOMAS?
I’ve been described as a unique, militant and fearless educator who inspired my students to always be their very best. While teaching at MacFarlane Elementary School in Dayton, Ohio, I was hand-picked by the Model Cities Program in the late 1960’s to fight racism at the Board of Education. I took action to protect Black students and their parents by utilizing the legal system to influence outcomes in education that empowered Blacks and poor families of all ethnicities. As a result, I was able to disrupt racism in Education and made a difference.

With Joe Madision
Hosted from SiriusXM’s Washington, D.C. headquarters, An American Conversation – We Are All Americans, was an ongoing series focused on the need for a national dialogue about race in America. Urban View host Joe Madison (“The Black Eagle”) moderated the series beginning with a roundtable discussion on a hotly debated topic in the news at the time: the School to Prison Pipeline. The special debuted on October 9, 2015 on SiriusXM’s Urban View channel 126 where Joe Madison led the panelists in an in-depth conversation that focused on improving the conditions contributing to pushing predominantly minority youth into the prison system.

To my family, to my classmates, to my Kappa brothers in the bond, to my colleagues, to my friends in the USA and all over the world, and to all my former students: Stick to the fight when you are hardest hit because it’s when things seem the worst that we must not quit. God bless you. I love you, I trust you, I respect you.
